Jemmy Best - Principal Director

With over 12 years experience operating small businesses, Jemmy has an excellent understanding of the local economies in both Cairns and Townsville.

Beginning in Cairns in 1996, Jemmy formed a Bookkeeping and Consultancy business. In addition to the bookkeeping business, in mid-2002, Jemmy purchased the Cairns franchise of Oasis Home Loans and predominantly specialised in "Non-Conforming" home loans. She owned this franchise for 15 months before beginning operation as Best Home Loans & Mortgage Services in January 2004. Working from two bedrooms at home with Jade Mulholland, after twelve months it was necessary to relocate to an established office. A further twelve months later, Best Home Loans moved again...this time to their current Cairns office in Manoora.

From the beginning of 2006, with a former business partner, she established a Townsville presence in Greenview Estate at the Mac Homes display home for six months. With the volume of work being generated from Best Home Loans, regrettably Jemmy had to sell the bookkeeping business after ten years in June 2006, but without it, she wouldn't be where she is today! In July 2006, Jemmy moved to Townsville and opened the first Townsville office of Best Home Loans. After eighteen months, Best Home Loans moved again...this time to their current Townsville office in Mundingburra.

Jemmy's success and the success of Best Home Loans can be attributed to many hours of hard work, total commitment to customer service, a passion to achieve client satisfaction, attention to detail and building excellent business associations. In recognition of this high standard, Jemmy was a finalist in Bendigo Bank’s Business Woman of the Year in 2007 and was also nominated for the Cairns Business Woman of the Year consecutively for two years. She is a Commissioner of Declarations, a member of the Townsville BNI (Business Networking International) Integrity Chapter and also a member of the Townsville Business Womens Network.

Jade Mulholland - Cairns Manager

Jade began working for Oasis Home Loans in March 2003 as a Loans Processor and was an integral part of the business.

Having come from a hospitality background, Jade had to learn what is involved with loan processing and with her drive to succeed, worked her way to the top as the Cairns Office Manager.  Her bubbly and outgoing personality, accompanied by her extensive product knowledge, from AAA to Non-Conforming loans, is a vital asset to the success of the business.  During her time with Best Home Loans, she provides good old fashioned service, a recipe she acquired from the Principal, Jemmy Best.

Jade has been a Cairns local for 24 years and has an excellent understanding of the local economy and understands what the people really want. With this knowledge, Jade is able to tailor their loans to suit their needs. She and all Best Home Loans staff pride themselves on their honesty, integrity and using layman’s terms to guide clients through the mortgage maze.  As a client, you are treated as a person and not just a loan reference number in the financial world.

Noel Land - Loans Processor

Noel commenced employment with Best Home Loans in February, 2008 as a Loans Processor.

Previously employed in the finance industry and with over 35 years continuous service with Westpac Bank, he left as a  Branch Manager.  His career in the banking industry commenced in Townsville and from this initial appointment he accepted transfers to many areas within the state.  The knowledge he gained during this previous employment is now proving of great benefit to the ongoing success of Best Home Loans' business.

Like all Best Home Loans staff, Noel has a very strong commitment to maintaining a high standard of customer service and being able to help all clients achieve their goals. This attitude complements the core of the Best Home Loans philosophy.

Chenoa Gurnick - Loans Processor

Chenoa comes to Best Home Loans with a wealth of knowledge with a strong background in the Car Loan & Equipment Finance Industry.

She has also worked in Sales & Marketing, as a Settlement Officer and a Finance Documentation Officer, giving her the edge coming into the Home Loan market.

Currently Chenoa is employed by Best Home Loans as a Loans Processor, gaining the necessary insight to becoming a fully accredited mortgage broker.
